Thank You Grandma and Grandpa

My parents just got back from a 16 day vacation to China. They came over on Sunday and brought along a very cute panda puppet from the zoo in China. On Sunday Audrey had no interest what so ever in the puppet. However, for the past few days we haven't been able to get it away from her. She knows to put her hand in it and then she runs around the house with it.

Markers are fun to eat

So we discovered that Audrey loves markers. Coloring on paper is alright but she much perfers to chew off the tips of her markers. Here are pictures from our coloring activity last night.

Sweet and Sassy

I fell in love with this shirt at Old Navy. Somehow I knew that it was a perfect fit for Audrey. She is a true blend of sweet and sassy. She loves to give hugs to all of her friends at school - she is famous for them. She is also starting to cuddle more with mom and dad (when she decides to slow down a little). She also is pretty sassy (which we LOVE). She is known as hurricane Audrey at our house. On Friday she decided that her room was too clean after Agata came and decided to mess it up a little.

I want my personal space

It is starting early. Audrey already wants to have her personal space. She has been going into her bedroom and slaming the door shut. She thinks that this is very funny - especially when we knock on the door. When we open the door, she giggles and shuts it on us again. We are in for trouble!

Audrey gets the Vote out

Audrey hopes that everyone votes tomorrow. Originally when I asked Kevin if we should put out an Obama sign, he said we lived in the most republican enclave of the most republican county in the state. However, Obama signs kept popping up in Elm Grove and one of our neighbors gave us the sign to put up. I was pleasantly surprised how many positive comments we have received so far. Mind you, this is coming from a former die hard Republican. How times have changed. It might have something to do with watching Keith Olbermann every single night for months.

Drama Queen

Audrey's new nickname is Drama Queen. She does have a flair for the dramatic. The other night she decided to let me know just how she felt about me taking away her pacifier. We (actually, just me as Kevin just loves to give her the pacifier), are trying to have the nookie only for night time and nap time. It works really well in the morning when she throws her pacifier out of her mouth into her crib and claps her hands. It doesn't work so well at night time.

Cousins are the best

Last Friday Emme stayed overnight and the two cousins had a blast. Audrey loved being with her big cousin. Her favorite thing was to hide in the bedroom with Emme and close the door on Mommy. The two girls were laughing and giggling. When Emme and I tried to play Uno, Audrey decided that she wanted to play too. The following pictures are a result of Audrey joining our game.

Messy Sunday

Sunday was a messy day for Audrey. For lunch she was practicing eating with utensils. She still prefers to use her hands over a spoon and fork. Nothing is too messy for her to use her hands. I decided to give her apple sauce and a spoon. You can see the results. She went into the tub and was clean for about 5 minutes.

We went to my sister's for dinner and had a great time. Audrey especially liked having her first ice cream cone. She liked it so much she decided to share with Wilbur. Unfortunately, Wilbur thought this meant that she was actually giving him all of her ice cream. She was not amused when he grabbed the last bite of her cone.

Crazy crafty mom - Felt Boards

Here is one of my projects that I have been working on for the crazy crafty mom of the year award. My dad built a wood barrier in between the family room and dining room. I decided to make felt boards for Audrey to play with. I think I get more of a kick out of it than Audrey.

She has 4 scenes to play with - The Farm, The Wild Kingdom, The Underwater Adventure and the Flower Field. We do have a good time singing old MacDonald to the farm scene. Today she was hugging her animals and carrying them around. Now they are all over the house and sticking to our socks.

Visit to the Pumpkin Patch - Lazy Parent Style

Saturday we brought Audrey to the "pumpkin patch" to pick out her first pumpkin. In reality, we drove down the street to the stand on the side of the road that sells pumpkins and mums. I figured she wouldn't realize the difference and we were still able to get the required pictures.

Audrey's favorite pumpkins were the ones with strange things growing on them. She also decided that they would make a perfect teether for her. She tried to bite several pumpkins. We didn't complain because it meant she wasn't biting us.
